How To Use Your Tennis Journal

All competitive tennis players should have a tennis journal close by them.

Tennis coaches should also have one too.

If you already have a tennis journal, make sure that you are using it the right way and if you don’t have one, go get one today and start following the instructions below.

Here are a few tips on how you can start using it more effectively for your tennis career.

First thing first though.

Your tennis journal is for your eyes only.

“Everything you write down in your journal is for you to read and contemplate on by yourself.”

Do it this way, because then you can reflect on your workouts and past matches, without having to deal with other people in your ear.

Words are and can be powerful.

Be aware of what you say and how you say it.

You don’t want to be listening to anyone who is weakening YOU.

The other tip for you is this.

Use it everyday and use it as much as you can.

Write in it before you go to bed tonight.

Brain dump all the ideas and information that you can, in it before you sleep and then first thing when you wake up, review your plans for that day and visualize yourself doing them.

“Then at the end of practice, write down how it went and also a few more ideas and tips, for how you can get better in your next practice.”

Thinking and mapping your career out on paper gives you insight and clarity, that tennis players need to be successful.

You should then carry your journal around with you, this goes for coaches and players.

The minute you think or see a good idea, record it down in your journal.

I mean how many times have you seen something and thought to yourself, “Man, I need to try that in my next practice or match.”

And then later you forgot all about it.

“That’s why you need to be using your tennis journal everyday and using it all day.”

Back to the journal.

At the end of the day, repeat what you did last night and follow the same routine the next day.

Talk about leveraging a notebook, do this for 2 months straight.

This is what is going to happen for you.

You are going to become so efficient with your schedule that, you will be reaching your tennis goals much faster and with less effort.

And that is what all tennis players are looking for!!
